Homemade Applesauce

Enjoy the freshest applesauce ever with this easy recipe that kids can help with!



Ingredients:

4-5 Apples (try Fuji for an extra sweet flavor)

Cinnamon (to taste)

1/2 cup water

Squeeze of lemon juice


Instructions:

1. Chop the apples into 1/2 inch cubes. Little ones can help with supervision.

2. Pour the apples into a sauce pan with the water.

3. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to simmer.

4. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and squeeze of lemon juice.

5. Allow to simmer until tender (about 10 minutes), stirring every few minutes.

6. Once the apples are soft, allow to cool for about 20 minutes.

7. Blend the apple and cinnamon mixture in blender until desired consistency is reached.


Tip: More water may need to be added while blending.


That's it! This tasty applesauce can be used to dip graham crackers in, as a spread on toast, or as a topping on cottage cheese. There are so many possibilities!
