ECE Curriculum Consulting

Why Consulting?

A fresh, professional perspective is priceless. When we establish and work toward goals through the "Practice to Progress" framework, magic happens.

Educators are empowered.

Children are seen as competent and capable (so they behave accordingly and learn joyfully).

Families are engaged and eager to support learning.

How I am Qualified to Help

I have owned (and taught) at a high quality, play-based preschool since 2013 and will be earning my Masters degree in Innovative Early Childhood Education in 2025.

I currently have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I am also certified as a large child care center director and Child Development Associate mentor.

The ways I can help: I will support you in creating meaningful learning opportunities & connection with the children in your life. I will also help you feel confident in your ability to teach the whole child (head, hands & heart).

Most importantly, I want to know what your specific goals are so that I can meet you where you’re at and help you get to where you’d like to go!

How Does this Work?

Step One: OBSERVE and DISCUSS

This foundational step consists of one 5 hour observation at your center or home-based facility (you can decide which areas/classrooms you think my observation time will be best spent). I will be spending a portion of this time in dialogue with teachers about their feelings around the learning environment and curriculum. Children will not be directly asked any questions regarding their school experience, but are welcome to ask me questions as they arise! My goal is not to hide and "catch behavior." It is to be a part of the experience and truly open myself up to what I am seeing in a non-judgmental way.

Step Two: ASSESS (in-depth, independent work on my part)

After observing, I will conduct an assessment of what I see working well with parents, children, families, and the environment. I will also highlight and document areas that we can strive to improve. This assessment and documentation piece will be brought to our next meeting.

Step Three: SHARE AND DISCUSS (1 hour in person)

We will meet to discuss curricular goals. These may involve transition changes, continuing education opportunities that will support improved teacher-child interactions, environmental shifts (classroom arrangement), material/toy ideas, conflict resolution ideas, and behavioral management systems that promote social-emotional well being.

Step Four- IMPLEMENT AND REVIEW (1 hour in person)

After 2-3  weeks, we will reconvene and see areas of growth as well as potential "stuck zones." We will collaboratively hone in on what is working and build on that as a platform to support the areas that are still a challenge.

RECONNECT- Remote check-in via e-mail

After an additional week, we will reconnect with feedback, requests or advice. Expect a detailed report and response at this time.

Moving forward, monthly check-ins are encouraged. These can be scheduled via zoom or in person. I love to stay in touch with the amazing children and educators I support. My deepest privilege is to keep the joy in learning and connect with those who are passionate about teaching!
